Glass‑Fused‑to‑Steel Bolted Tanks: The Ideal Storage Solution for Wastewater & Biogas Projects

When selecting storage and reactor equipment for biogas and wastewater treatment projects, corrosion resistance, service life and construction efficiency are core concerns for project contractors and investors. Glass‑Fused‑to‑Steel (GFS) bolted tanks have gradually become a mainstream choice to replace traditional concrete pools and welded steel tanks.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology

GFS tank panels are fully prefabricated in factory. After CNC cutting and sandblasting treatment, special enamel glaze is coated on steel plates, then fired at 820℃‑930℃ high temperature. In this process, glass enamel and steel plate fuse together chemically to form a tough inorganic anti‑corrosion coating. Every steel panel passes 1500V spark test before delivery to ensure reliable quality.

All tank components are transported to project site, then assembled by bolts with special sealant. Complex on‑site welding work is no longer required, greatly shortening construction time.

Outstanding Product Advantages

  1. Superior anti‑corrosion capacity: The inert enamel coating adapts to PH 1‑14 working conditions, resisting acid, alkali and complex wastewater erosion.

  2. Long service life: Design life can reach more than 30 years with low maintenance cost.

  3. Fast installation: Modular prefabricated structure reduces on‑site working period, and does not rely on large‑scale construction equipment.

  4. Good reusability: Tanks can be disassembled, relocated and expanded according to project upgrade demands.

  5. Wide adaptability: Less restriction for site foundation and weather conditions. Multiple color options are available.

Main Application Fields

GFS bolted tanks can be used as storage tanks as well as anaerobic reactors for multiple wastewater processes.

  • Biogas & biomethane projects: CSTR anaerobic digester, biogas fermentation tank

  • Livestock manure and slaughter wastewater treatment

  • Industrial wastewater: food, brewery, papermaking, pharmaceutical and printing‑dyeing industry

  • Municipal sewage, landfill leachate and kitchen waste treatment

  • General‑purpose storage for water and chemical raw materials

Multiple roof solutions are optional, including enamel roof, FRP roof and membrane biogas roof to satisfy different process requirements.
